The Maiella National Park and the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park is a vast mountainous area with outstanding walking and trekking and some rare wildlife species

There is just so much area covered by the parks that it would be impossible to cover everything here. However, there is some good descriptive advice on the Italy Magazine website and also organised hiking and trekking on offer from Ecotur and also a list of walks and trails in the Maiella. Prepared to be stunned by the sheer vastness and beauty of the area. Alternatively, try a walk along the dunes of Punta Aderci Reserve with its fantastic sandy beaches and wildlife. You may even see the Bottlenose Dolphins who regularly visit the coast.
