Often these are called "house rules" but we just prefer to list a number of things that we would like guests to be aware of to ensure guests have as comfortable stay as is possible, so here we go:
● Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere inside the house. If you do smoke outside, please use the ashtrays provided and empty these safely into a "general" waste sack (black/grey) and place in the "general" bin on the west side of the property not in the bin in the house.
● Recycling is mandatory here and failure to do so means fines are levied. Please ensure you use the correct colour bags and bins for waste disposal. Please ensure waste is removed on departure. Further information is here.
● Please turn off the bedroom air conditioning units during the day, running them 24/7 is hugely expensive. We suggest that you set the bedroom a/c units to around 20º an hour or so before bedtime and then turn it off when the room is comfortable.
● Beds are provided with an appropriate seasonal duvet and, in summer, with an additional top sheet. If the weather is hot, guests may wish to store the duvet in the wardrobe and just use the top sheet.

● Guests are welcome to open bedroom windows and/or door, but please ensure the insect screens are closed.
● During summer, especially on the south side, we recommend that doors/windows/blinds/curtains are kept closed as often as possible to avoid overheating.
● Please TAKE SPECIAL CARE AROUND THE POOL. The tiled pool surround can become VERY slippery when wet, so please ensure children are supervised and do not run around the pool. We adults have even had a slip or two! We suggest the wearing of rubber soled flip flops or something similar.
● The table and floor lights in the living and family rooms are operated through "ALEXA" which is installed on 3 of the 4 SONOS speakers in the kitchen, living room and family room. You just need to say "Alexa, lights on" or "Alexa, lights off" and they will all operate accordingly. You can operate them independently with the instructions here:
Note - As always with Alexa, you may need to repeat the instruction! Also, if you have used the "translate" capability to get this page into your own language, then note that the verbal instructions to Alexa should be given in English!
● WiFi is available throughout the house and the south side terrace and will be extended to the pool area soon. Connect to the WiFi network called SALCIM2G and enter the password 12345678.
● The SONOS speakers in the kitchen, living room and family room will also allow you to playback your own music from your mobile device. Further instructions are here.
● We do not have satellite or cable television. Instructions for TV operation are here.
● If you need assistance with anything then our local representative, Marta, is always available to assist. She speaks Italian, English and Polish (and probably several other languages we're not aware of!) and can also provide other services to you such as catering, foraging classes, advice on where to eat or drink and many other useful bits of information. She is only about 10 minutes away but we'd appreciate if you'd keep contact to daylight hours unless there is an emergency, which we're sure Marta would appreciate too!
● Please also let Marta know when you depart if anything has been damaged or broken, so that we can ensure timely replacement or repair.
Finally, we sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. If you have any concerns or recommendations then please do email us at [email protected] or here. We'd also appreciate any comments on Tripadvisor or Facebook, which you can leave via the "Contact & Comments" section of our website. Alternatively, if you booked using a 3rd party website, you can comment there.
We wish you all the very best and hope to see you again,
Stephen and Ash
